Aaron Thomason earns Kadeer Ali praise

West Bromwich Dartmouth expect to have again Warwickshire ace Aaron Thomason available for tomorrow’s visit of Shifnal.

All-rounder Thomason put in a man-of-the-match performance when Dartmouth halted a three-match losing skid in Birmingham League Premier Division One by beating Dorridge last week.

The 21-year-old, who has been playing his way back to fitness following injury, took three wickets and then blasted an unbeaten 61 in a comfortable eight-wicket victory.

Skipper Kadeer Ali is once more hoping for big things as Dartmouth aim for a second win on the spin.

“Aaron has been outstanding and given the team a little more energy since he came in,” said Kadeer.

“He’s been very good with the bat and ball but excellent in the field too. He’s a whole-hearted cricketer who is great to have in the team. Hopefully he can keep on delivering.”

Kadeer admits to facing something of a headache with pretty much his whole squad available for selection.

He explained: “The big decision is whether to play an extra batsman, though that is not the only dilemma I have.

“We’ve got to get the balance of the team right, though obviously there is a lot more confidence around the place after winning last week.”

Kidderminster face a trip to early season leaders Berkswell. The hosts have dropped just 10 points in their opening seven matches.

Smethwick host Knowle and Dorridge, while Walsall travel to big-hitting Barnt Green.
