Former Wolves goalkeepers Phil Parkes, Matt Murray, Michael Oakes and Carl Ikeme swapped gloves for microphones at the Cleveland Arms.

The quartet, who made more than 800 appearances between them in gold and black, took to the stage at An Evening In Safe Hands to reveal tales and anecdotes from their playing days.

The central focus was Ikeme’s book.

Ikeme followed in the footsteps of Parkes, Oakes and Murray to take on the gloves at Molineux but retired early in 2018 due to his battle with leukaemia.

The keeper is now in remission and has written an autobiography entitled Why Not Me, which charts his football career alongside dealing with his illness.

Mick McCarthy and his long-time assistant Terry Connor are the next guests at the Cleveland Arms. They will be on stage on February 13.
