Europa League: Forgotten Wolves fans on Slovan Bratislava ticket debacle - with VIDEO

Hundreds more Wolves fans have flown over to Slovakia – despite not having tickets for tonight’s Europa League game at Slovan Bratislava.

As part of what has proved to be a controversial Uefa sanction against Slovan for racism, Wolves were only able to sell 200 tickets – at £55 each, with the price set by the hosts.

Those were swiftly snapped up. However, plenty more have made the trip, with some chancing their arm and trying to get into Tehelne pole somehow, with others happy to soak up the atmosphere in the city centre bars.

Harry Mansell, from Stourport, said: “We flew in from Heathrow to Vienna, and then had a 40-minute coach ride from there, here into Bratislava.

“It’s gutting what has happened. I haven’t got a ticket, but I’m here to soak up the atmosphere.”

Mansell, who is part of the popular fan podcast The Wolves 77 Club, added: “I’ve come for the experience.

“I said to myself that any chance I get to go to a game in Europe, I’ll go.

“It’s a dream to be in the Europa League, so that’s the motivation behind it.”

Slovan, despite the behind-closed-doors sanction, are due to have a full house for the game – mainly made up of under-14s who can enter the game for free, with an adult accompanying every 10.

The Wolves fans who have got their hands on tickets are understood to have been told not to wear club colours as well.

Alex Jones, from Wolverhampton, who has travelled via Budapest without a ticket, said: “Don’t get me started. It’s shocking. We’re getting punished for their racism.

“But I’ve followed Wolves since I was little, so I may as well come along and do my best to support them.”

Daniel Sill, from Birmingham, who is another without a ticket, feels Wolves have been done an injustice too.

“We’ve got 200 tickets, but there are 600 of us over here with flights and accommodation," said Sill.

“Slovan appealed and we hoped that would be successful, but it wasn’t.

“It’s one of them. We’ll make the most of it. It’s a lovely city with cheap beer – great for a couple of days”
