The 22-year-old was a regular first team player for the Cod Army in League One last season, making more than 30 appearances in all competitions.

However this season he has only made one appearance, playing 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool under-21s in the EFL Trophy in September.

Sheron, who can play in both defence and midfield, made his Football league debut in August 2018 and becomes the Saddlers' second signing of the January transfer window.

"I’m made up to be here," he said.

"I’m really looking forward to the upcoming games and I’m ready to get going.

"During my loan spell I just want to get Walsall up the table.

"I want to be playing games whilst I’m here and I'm looking forward to getting into the games and hopefully getting us into a play-off position.

"I just want to make an impact whilst I’m with the club.

"I want to help the boys out as much as possible and better the team as well as myself if possible.

"Hopefully if I am given the chance, I can make an impact this weekend in our game against Carlisle.

"I’m a defensive midfielder by nature.

"I like to get stuck in, I like to win the ball and then get us moving.

"I like to play and get on it a lot and move the ball about – I’m here to help the team out."

Manager Darrell Clarke, who revealed last week that the club were close to adding a midfielder to the squad, said he's pleased to have Sheron on board.

“We’re very pleased to add Nathan to the squad," he said.

“He’s played quite a few games in League One and he will give us extra competition in the midfield area.

“He strengthens the squad and offers us something different.

“I’m sure he’ll have a positive impact during his spell with us.”
