The Glassboys have a fine record in the competition having reached the first-round proper in six of the last 11 seasons.

After drawing 2-2 with National League visitors Eastleigh earlier this months, Long’s side now travel to Hampshire for the replay tonight.

And a lucrative prize awaits whoever wins, with League Two Crewe the opposition in the second round – a match that will be shown live on BT Sport.

“A lot of people have said to me we missed our chance to get through after the draw at home,” Long said.

“But I don’t believe that at all – I think we have got a really good chance.

“We had created the best opportunities and were the better side until we had to shuffle our pack due to injuries.

“And that is what I am going to be telling the players.

“The personnel is going to be pretty much the same – we just have to go out there and perform.

“It would be fantastic to get through. A home tie against a league side that is going to be shown on BT Sport.

“The TV companies usually pick the games where they think there is a good chance of an upset.

“We just have to pull off one more upset before then. It will be tough against a full-time side, but we are ready.”
