Kidderminster Harriers secured back to back away wins as a second half Ashley Chambers strike at the Tameside Stadium earned them a solitary goal win over Curzon Ashton.

Harriers off-field issues, the club are in the process of a change of ownership, are affecting any on field aspirations as manager John Pemberton is asking his thread bare squad to perform again this time against an unbeaten Curzon Ashton side.

Harriers started well Ed Williams sending a long range effort narrowly wide and Cliff Moyo looping a header that needed the intervention of defender Andy Halls to deny the visitors an opening goal.

The visitors dominated a one-sided first half but found Cameron Mason in the home goal in inspired form, denying Ashley Chambers and Richard Peniket before saving his best just before the interval.

The lively Ashley Chambers had once again seen his low drive diverted for a corner which the ‘Nash’ defence cleared to the half way line.

Ed Williams linked well with Correy Davidson and the young full back’s rising drive was somehow acrobatically turned aside by the stretching Mason for Harriers seventh corner of the half.

Despite their superiority and controlled possession Harriers could not find a way through to leave half time goalless, they continued in much the same vain as they finished the first but again struggled to find a way through.

Rhys Williams fired straight into Mason’s midrift, and Sam Austin dragged an effort wide before Chambers settled the issue.

Richard Peniket drew two defenders towards him as he shielded Williams’ through ball and a precise pass found Chambers in space and the Harriers striker remained calm, drawing keeper Mason before lifting the ball over him and into an unguarded net.

Ryan Johnson and Chambers had chances to extend the lead before the Nash fought back in the closing stages, substitute Luke Wall saw his strike blocked by Cameron Gregory and Michael Elstone directed his header wide as the young Harriers side defended for all their worth to take the victory.
