The 26-year-old returns to Aggborough, having had a loan spell at the club in 2012 when a professional with Fulham.

Meanwhile, Ironside has departed for League Two Macclesfield Town after scoring 48 goals in 96 appearances.

He said: “My time with Kidderminster has been the most enjoyable two-and-a-half years of my footballing career. Everyone at the club and all the fans have been brilliant for me, so I’m going with the club held in the highest regard possible.

“Playing in the League has always been my aim but, in terms of non-league, it would always have been Kiddy.”

Despite leaving with days of him taking over, Ironside also had praise for new Harriers boss John Pemberton: “When he managed me at Sheffield United, I was just a boy – the things I was taught then are the things I am still improving on now, and a lot of what I know now is down to him.”

Peniket will be tasked with filling the void left by Ironside. The former Wales Under-21 international began his career at Walsall and most recently played for Alfreton Town.

Elsewhere, striker Danny Waldron has agreed to stay with Rushall Olympic for another season.

He said: “It was a frustrating start (to last season) for both myself and the team but we were able to find a level of consistency that saw us finish strongly and give us plenty of reason to be optimistic for the season ahead.

“The standard of this League is high but we know that on our day we are capable of beating anyone and we’ll be working hard over the summer to make sure that we can hit the ground running and start well.

“I had a few niggling injuries at the start of last season which meant that I was unable to get into a proper rhythm, but hopefully I’ll be fully fit and flying this time around.”

Halesowen Town have signed midfielder Brad Birch and defender Paul McCone from Stourbridge.

Yeltz boss Paul Smith said: “To attract a player of Paul’s calibre shows where we are going as a club.’’
