Lowestoft Town 2 Rushall Olympic 4 - Report

Rushall Olympic made the long journey home with all three points courtesy of a 4-2 win at Lowestoft Town.

It was The Pics who opened the scoring in the sixth minute when a counter-attack from Danny Waldron saw his effort pushed out by the ‘keeper into the path of Aram Soleman who was on hand to guide the ball home.

The goal sparked the home side into life and as they searched for an quick response, Orrin Pendley did well to head off the line.

After going close moments earlier, Jake Reed managed to level the scores just past the quarter-hour mark when he got away from Brian Smikle before firing home.

There was a smart save from Matt Sargeant as a free-kick was pumped into the box and found the head of Reed but The Pics’ ‘keeper was equal to it.

The home side got their noses in front on 32 minutes when Adam Smith curled home beyond the reach of Sargeant.

As we tried to get back on level terms just before the break, Simeon Maye did well to pick out Tyler Lyttle who dragged wide as we went in at half-time trailing 2-1.

It was a positive start to the second half for Rushall and we levelled matters as Joe Hull volleyed home.

There were chances at either end before Waldron lobbed home to put us 3-2 in front on 72 minutes after he was played through by Danny O’Callaghan.

The win was sealed late on when Waldron twisted and turned before firing home to give us a 4-2 victory in an entertaining encounter.
