Ian Rowe’s side are sitting fourth in the Premier Division standings as they head to AFC Wulfrunians, seven points behind leaders Coventry United, but with four games in hand.

Khalsa, who lost 3-0 to Kent-based Corinthian in the last 16 of the Vase last Saturday, go into the clash on the back of five straight league wins and boosted by the fact a number of their promotion rivals slipped up last weekend.

“A couple of the sides around us lost on Saturday and that was a bit of a tonic for us following our Vase result,” said Rowe.

“It’s all very tight at the top at the moment. Any one of seven sides could go on to win the league.

“We still have all the top six bar Romulus to play, plus Walsall Wood. Our league form has been good for a number of weeks and we need to maintain that.

“We have to put the Vase defeat behind us and we have a local derby with AFC Wulfrunians to get us going again.

“I think that by the end of the month three or four sides may have broken away a bit. Hopefully we will be one of those sides.”

AFC Wulfrunians, who drew 2-2 away to Haughmond last Saturday, go into the clash without a victory in five league outings.

Walsall Wood are still in the promotion picture following a welcome 1-0 win last time out at Lye.

They head to South Normanton Athletic tomorrow.

Tividale, who beat Selston in midweek, are away to Worcester City.
