South Staffs Water have been carrying out the work in Bromford Lane this week, after the water main burst.

Workers completed the repairs to the main on Monday and are now carrying out reinstatement works on the road and footpath. A one-way system is in place while the works are on-going.

It is hoped the road will re-open fully by the end of the week.

A spokesman for South Staffs Water said: "Our reinstatement work is progressing well, as we have completed the installation of new kerbs and backfilling of the road has begun.

"The concrete and tarmac will be left to set, before further layers are added to make the road suitable for traffic."

A Sandwell Council spokesman added: "We are aware that this work is causing delays through Oldbury and West Bromwich during rush hour and we are hopeful they will have the work completed by Friday."
