Metro services back to normal after tram and lorry crash

A crash between a tram and a lorry shut off transport services in Wolverhampton city centre today.

The first two West Midlands Metro stops in Wolverhampton were closed for around an hour due to the crash.

Trams were instead starting and terminating at Priestfield tram stop in Ettingshall.

The crash happened on the A41 Bilston Road at 3pm this afternoon and services were not fully back running until around 4pm.

One person was treated for shock.

West Midlands Police confirmed that the incident was reported to them but said that no arrests were made.

A West Midlands Ambulance Spokesman said: "We were called at 3.32pm, one ambulance and one paramedic officer attended.

"One patient was treated for the affects of shock."
