Willenhall Road crash: Police release man as investigations continue

A man has been released amid an ongoing investigation into a crash which left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was struck by a car just before 10.30am on Wednesday on Willenhall Road, Wolverhampton.

At the time of the crash, a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

West Midlands Police have now confirmed that the man has been released "pending investigations."

The woman, who was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in the aftermath of the crash, remains in hospital receiving treatment but her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The busy road, which acts as a major route connecting Wolverhampton and Walsall, was closed off as emergency services dealt with the incident.
