Emergency services, including the Midlands Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene on Lower Mill Street, off the A456 St Marys Ringway, on Sunday afternoon.

The man was treated by paramedics before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham, by air ambulance.

But, sadly the 78-year-old man died in hospital on Monday.

West Mercia Police named the man as Clement Dalley, from Kidderminster – who was well-known locally for being the owner of family business, Dalley Seeds, a seed merchant in the town.

The collision involved a Nissan Juke and a mobility scooter, near to Crossley Retail Park.

The surrounding roads were closed between 1pm and 5pm, while emergency services were at the scene.

The force is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision to contact them – including anyone who has dash-cam footage.

Pc Scott Gee, from West Mercia Police, said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Dalley’s family at this time and we are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the incident, which occurred on the ring road near to the Crossley Retail Park, at around 1pm on Sunday involving a Nissan Juke and a mobility scooter so that we can get a better understanding of what has occurred.

“We are especially keen to see any dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident. If you have any information please call 101.”

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident reference number 300S of January 5.
