Three injured including child in Wolverhampton crash

Three people were injured after two cars crashed in Wolverhampton.

The crash happened at the junction of Proud's Lane and Moseley Road in Portobello, close to Willenhall Road, which is a major route between Wolverhampton and Willenhall.

A man and a girl from one car, and a man from the other car, were all taken to New Cross Hospital with injuries not believed to be serious, say West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A toddler and a third man suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment at that time.

The crash happened at around 3.45pm on Monday.

Two ambulance crews and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, Jamie Arrowsmith, said: "A man and a girl from one car were taken to New Cross Hospital on the same ambulance, with injuries not believed to be serious.

"The girl was a backseat passenger who managed to get herself out of the car.

"The man, the driver of the car, also managed to get himself out of the car.

"A passenger of the other car, a man, also suffered injuries that are not believed to be serious, he got himself out of the car and he was also taken to New Cross Hospital.

"Two passengers suffered minor injuries and were assessed and discharged at the scene, a young toddler from the first car and a male from the second car."

West Midlands Fire Service sent eight firefighters from Bilston and Fallings Park stations.

Officials confirmed one of the cars collided with a garden wall in the crash.

Police are now investigating and anyone with information can call 101 quoting log number 1538 of June 3.
