Teenage girl arrested after elderly woman robbed at Bloxwich cash point

A 16-year-old girl has been arrested after an elderly woman was robbed as she used the cash point in Bloxwich High Street.

The pensioner, in her 90s, was targeted at the ATM outside Barclays Bankon the High Street in the town.

At the time, police said she was barged out of the way by a woman who kept her away from the machine and pressed a button to increase the amount of money being taken out.

The thief withdrew the cash and walked off towards Lichfield Road, just before noon on April 11.

West Midlands Police released an image of the person they wanted to identify in connection with the robbery.

Yesterday they announced they had arrested a 16-year-old girl from Birmingham on suspicion of robbery.

She has been bailed pending further enquiries.
