Walsall Council started work on the project to expand the car park on February 18 - and finished this week.

The number of parking spaces has gone up from 26 to 56.

Simon Neilson, executive director for economy and environment at the council, said: "Walsall Council is using funding from the Department for Transport's National Productivity Infrastructure Fund and the Black Country Local Enterprise Programme to deliver a range of transport improvements across Walsall to improve access to our economic centre.”

"More than doubling the amount of car parking spaces available will maximise the benefits of the Chase Line Electrification scheme which will improve train frequencies, journey times and quality, and reduce air and noise pollution.

"Next month sees introduction of new timetables which will see Walsall borough better connected by train."
