Schoolgirl taken to hospital after being hit by car in Walsall

A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Bloxwich.

The girl was hit at about 7.30am today on Lichfield Road.

Police said her injuries are not thought to be life threatening and the driver is assisting police with their inquiries.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Lichfield Road, Bloxwich, just after 7.30am this morning.

"A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

"The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries."

The girl was treated at the scene and then taken to Walsall Manor Hospital, according to West Midlands Ambulance Service.
