Travellers encampment near HMP Featherstone moved on

Travellers who pitched up on land near Wolverhampton have moved on.

The group of six caravans and seven cars were spotted on land owned by HMP Featherstone on Friday.

Police officers began working with the Category C prison and the community safety team to resolve the issue.

Council officers also visited the travellers, who set up camp on the green space in Oaks Drive, and asked them to move.

The travellers then moved from the location at about 7pm on Tuesday, Staffordshire Police confirmed.
