The parrots, brother and sister Molly and Isacc, went missing from the site in Bobbington on Wednesday.

The birds flew off after a bird show at the zoo’s amphitheatre.

Staff said it appears the birds were following the Staffordshire canal route that sits close to the attraction.

Head-keeper Alice received a call yesterday from two women in Stafford who spotted them in a tree.

Both birds flew directly down to Alice who had helped handraise them.

The zoo shared the good news on Facebook on Friday, writing: “We can’t thank you enough to everyone that has shared our posts.

"They’ve been seen by a staggering 300,000 people or more.

"We wouldn’t have these birds back here today if it weren’t for that, it’s been a real community effort from everyone involved and it really gives us faith in people!"

"Molly and Issac are able to rest and relax. In order to do the flying they do daily they have a very high quality, high energy diet with lots of variety, veg, fruit, pulses, seeds and nuts as well as a specially formulated high energy pellet.

"They will have some chill time and we expect they will be itching to fly again within the week once they’ve had a well earned relax!

"This time, they have their newly learned skills under the belts and hopefully a better understanding of thermals!"
