Norton Canes Primary Academy held the yearly event on Friday.

Names of fallen soldiers were read out at the service while students dropped poppy petals.

Sally Watkins, office manager at the school, said: "Commemorating armistice at Norton Canes Primary Academy is an event we hold close to our hearts.

"We were so pleased share this act of remembrance, with the ongoing support of the Royal British Legion, local dignitaries and members of the local community.

"Our Year 5 and 6 children played a huge role in the service by sharing poems, prayers and songs.

"The name of each fallen solider from the First World War and the Second World War was read out whilst pupils dropped poppy petals as a mark of respect.

"We would like to thank everyone who was able to join us, both during the assembly and for refreshments afterwards.

"We look forward to hosting next years’ service."
