The two-car collision happened on the A461 Horseley Heath near Lidl in Great Bridge at around 5.30pm on Wednesday.

The male driver of one of the cars involved was taken to hospital for "potentially-serious injuries", while a toddler from the second vehicle was treated by paramedics at the scene before being discharged.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 5:26pm on Wednesday to reports of a multi-vehicle collision at the junction of the A461 and Ball Fields in Tipton.

"We sent three ambulances and a paramedic officer to the scene. On arrival we found two patients.

"Staff treated one man, who was the driver of one of the cars, for potentially serious injuries. He was taken on blue lights to Sandwell Hospital for further treatment.

"We also treated a male toddler, who was a passenger in another vehicle, for minor injuries. He was discharged at the scene.”

Traffic was delayed in both directions and buses were diverted while emergency crews worked at the scene next to SMC Motor Co.
