Three people injured in Birmingham street crash

Three people were taken to hospital after a crash which closed a Birmingham street.

An extensive clean-up was needed after the significant damaged caused to the two cars involved

The crash happened in Bromford Road, Hodge Hill, on Monday evening.

Two men and a woman had to be freed from their cars after the collision at around 8.30pm.

They were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further care.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the drivers of the cars, both men, were treated for serious injuries.

One of them was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, while the other was transported to Heartlands Hospital.

The doctor and critical care paramedic travelled individually with the patients to help continue treatment en-route to hospital, the spokesman said.

A third patient, a woman, was treated for potentially serious injuries and also taken to Heartlands Hospital.

West Midlands Police officers are investigating the crash.
