And a number of schools in Wolverhampton have achieved just that, boasting a glowing report after a visit from the education watchdogs.

It is however worth noting that many of these schools have not been inspected for several years and so could be due an inspection in the near future. Some other schools may have only been inspected by Ofsted recently and still be waiting for reports.

This list does not include standalone nurseries, children's centres, special schools, grammar schools or private schools.

Primary schools

Woden Primary School, Springfield Road, Wolverhampton – last inspected in March, 2015

Inspectors noted that:

• The behaviour of pupils was "exemplary" at all times of the day.

• School goers made "outstanding" progress in their reading, writing and mathematics.

• Youngsters commented that they felt "safe" and "happy" attending Woden.

East Park Academy, Hollington Road, Wolverhampton – last inspected in June, 2019

Inspectors found that:

• Pupils read "widely" and "often", making use of library facilities and the outside reading courtyard at the school.

• School goers with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) were supported "extremely well".

• Leaders at East Park Academy are invested in "prioritising" the welfare of staff and pupils.

St Michael’s Church of England Aided Primary School, Tettenhall, Wolverhampton – last inspected in December, 2017

In the Ofsted report, it was noted that:

• The school provided a "safe", "nurturing" and "aspirational" environment for its pupils.

• The social and emotional wellbeing of learners was a "high priority".

• Staff go the "extra mile" to care for families in difficulty.

Whitgreave Primary School, Low Hill, Wolverhampton – last inspected in January, 2023

Ofsted inspectors visiting Whitgreave found that:

• Pupils achieved well in all subjected due to leaders and staff holding the "highest" of expectations.

• The school curriculum was "exciting" and "extremely ambitious".

• Pupils "have a voice" at the Whitgreave which was evident in the range of leadership roles on offer to them.

Spring Vale Primary School, Parkfield, Wolverhampton – last inspected in October, 2019

Inspectors noted that:

• Pupils valued the "strong sense of community and belonging" at Spring Vale.

• School goers enjoyed the "wide range" of trips and activities on offer to them.

• Teachers knew pupils "well" and "provide" for their range of abilities.

Hill Avenue Academy, Lanesfield, Wolverhampton – last inspected in May, 2019

Upon visiting Hill Avenue Academy, inspectors found that:

• Pupils produced work of an "exceptionally high" standard as a result of "highly knowledgeable" and "skilled" teaching.

• Learners showed a "high level" of respect for each other’s differences, whether of race, faith or disability.

• The mental health and wellbeing of pupils was "at the heart" of the school's curriculum.

Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School, Bilston, Wolverhampton – last inspected in January, 2014

Following a visit to the school by Ofsted, it was found that:

• The school was considered to be like one "big happy family" for those who attend and work there.

• Pupils were "highly motivated" and "totally engaged" in their learning as a result of teachers having "excellent" subject knowledge.

• Youngsters were "extremely polite and caring" and demonstrate "pride" in their achievements and their school.

Manor Primary School, Bilston, Wolverhampton – last inspected in December, 2022

Inspectors noted that:

• Leaders work "tirelessly" to "empower" pupils at to "find their wings and fly".

• Parents of children attending Manor Primary spoke "highly" of the support provided.

• The curriculum is "highly ambitious" and "exceptionally well taught".

Secondary schools

Heath Park School, Prestwood Road, Wolverhampton – last inspected in February, 2014

Following a visit by Ofsted, it was found that:

• Students were "proud" to attend the school and were "highly motivated" to achieve their best.

• Achievement in the sixth form was "outstanding" and learners make excellent progress.

• Most teachers were "highly skilled" in the way they challenge students to think "more deeply " about their work and to identify how it can be improved.

Moseley Park Academy, Bilston, Wolverhampton – last inspected in September, 2017

Inspectors noted in the report that:

• Leaders demonstrated "uncompromising" ambition for all pupils in the school and were "meticulous" in checking how pupils achieve in each subject.

• Staff were "highly supportive" of the school and "proud" to be a part of it.

• Parents commented that Moseley Park had been a "very positive experience" for their children, particularly for vulnerable pupils and those with previous low self-esteem.
