Staff fight coronavirus in their A Team video

Staff at St Mary's Catholic Primary Academy have remained at work, spilt into teams, to teach the children of key workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many of their childrens' parents are working at New Cross Hospital while others are working on bin collections and vital road maintenance.

So school staff decided to create a video to the theme of The A Team to celebrate the efforts of key workers as they 'fight coronavirus' in the video.

Staff member Katie McTaggart said "As a school we are open to children of key workers.

"Due to our close proximity to New Cross Hospital, many of the children that are currently in our care are children whose parents work at the hospital, as well as other parents who are working in waste services and highways keeping our country going.

"All of our staff have been amazing and we are currently split into four teams.

"Team A (The A Team) have been on the first shift this week and we felt that we needed to make our whole school community smile and acknowledge the work of all the key workers in the country, including staff in educational settings.

"We are all very competitive especially when it comes to our house point system [the staff], so we've decided to challenge the other teams for the next few months to keep us all laughing in these unprecedented times."
