Northwood Park Primary School in Collingwood Road, Bushbury, took legal action against the decision made by the Standards and Testing Agency.

The Department for Education has now confirmed that after a maladministration investigation by the Standards and Testing Agency, test results for the maths papers 1, 2 and 3 at the school were reinstated for all pupils.

Headteacher Alan Rogers said: “I’m delighted to say that after a thorough review it has been conclusively agreed the school did nothing wrong in the administration of the SATs in 2018.

“Those results have now been published and I will be writing to the parents of the pupils affected to inform them of the good news.

“The 2018 maths SATs results were good and broadly in line with the national average. This was a great achievement by the children, who were supported by highly skilled, hard-working and enthusiastic staff.”

Mr Rogers said the judicial review had proved disruptive and this would be reflected in upcoming 2019 results.

“It is an unfortunate consequence of that disruption that the 2019 SATs results will not fairly reflect the pupils’ ability and experience during Key Stage 2,” he added.

“We have though taken a number of actions to address this and I’m happy to say the school is once again settled and fully focused.

"The school has always gone to great lengths to provide the children with a range of opportunities to excel, including sports and performing arts, as well as providing a balanced academic curriculum.

“Early assessments for 2020 indicate the school is on track and is again targeting the strong results for which it is known.”
