Samuel Burns worked at Wilko when he stole £780

Dudley Magistrates Court heard how Samuel Burns was in a 'bad mental state' when he took £780 from an internal cash machine and the tills in the store at High Street, Bloxwich.

The multiple incidents of theft between January 2 and May 12 were noticed by security and income protection staff who launched an internal investigation.

Dudley Magistrates Court heard on Tuesday that Burns, aged 27, was identified as the person taking the money and was given a chance to hand it back to the store with no further action taken but refused.
