The suspects were tracked down in Coseley by officers using dogs and a drone in the early hours of Sunday.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were alerted to a break-in at an address in Hartland Avenue at around 4.45am today (23 April).

"Our teams rushed to the property and discovered there were around 100 cannabis plants inside.

"Three men, two aged 24 and another aged 28 were swiftly arrested on suspicion of burglary, and following a foot chase a 33-year-old was also detained shortly afterwards. They have all been taken into custody for questioning."

Tweeting about the incident in Coseley, officers West Midlands Police's drones Twitter account said: "Great job by four in custody for burglary! This was one's getaway didn't go to plan.

"Here on this glass conservatory you can see two places where he had crouched down on the roof, before standing up and getting down when he knew the game was up."
