Alleged Stourbridge gunman charged after armed police operation

A suspected gunman from the Black Country has been charged after an armed police operation.

Callum Meah, 24 and from Stourbridge, is one of five men to have been charged after officers from the National Crime Agency stopped a car in the Kings Norton area of Birmingham.

Officers found a handgun and ammunition during the operation in Muirfield Gardens on Tuesday, the NCA said.

The five men have been charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of prohibited ammunition, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Meah, of Shepherds Brook Road, was charged along with 36-year-old Carl Brookes of Dearmont Road, Northfield, 34-year-old Richard Davies of Jubilee Road, Rednal, 27-year-old Jordan Feeney of Roundlea Road, Birmingham and 30-year-old Robert Clark, previously of Cheverton Road, Northfield.

Clark has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon after officers allegedly found a knife on him when he was arrested.

NCA and West Midlands Police officers carried out a number of searches in the Rubery, Stourbridge, Northfield and Longbridge areas in connection with the arrests.

All five have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance at Birmingham Crown Court on June 16.
