Pregnant woman kicked in Birmingham house robbery

A pregnant woman was kicked in a terrifying robbery where jewellery was stolen from a home in Birmingham.

Three masked men, believed to be Romanian and armed with screwdrivers, forced their way into the home in Highfield Road, in the Hall Green area.

They pulled a pregnant woman off the bed, before kicking her in the stomach and legs.

Another woman tried to intervene but the thieves fled the property with a large quantity of jewellery.

The robbery unfolded at around 6pm on Saturday, February 15.

Detective Sergeant Tom Lyons, from West Midlands Police's Force CID, said: "This was a nasty assault on two woman, who were at home with their children.

“Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but the outcome could have been a lot worse.

"This attack happened in the early evening, so we are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything in the area at the time to contact us, or if you saw any suspicious behaviour on the road at the time.

"We are also appealing to anyone who sees this jewellery being sold, or if you notice jewellery appearing at your home that was not there before."
