Man denies trying to drown partner in bath

A man has denied trying to drown his former partner in a bath.

Joel Bailey, aged 36, pleaded not guilty of making threats to kill, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court heard yesterday the alleged incident took place in West Bromwich on Thursday.

Bailey, of Oak Road, Oldbury, who works as a gas fitter, will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court, on February 24, for a pre-trial hearing.

He was denied bail by District Judge Richard Webster and remanded in custody until the hearing.
