Man charged with murder of Jack Donoghue in stab attack

A man from Staffordshire has been charged with murder after Jack Donoghue was fatally stabbed outside a nightclub.

It came as police appealed to trace another man in connection with the attack in Solihull town centre.

Mr Donoghue, aged 21, was stabbed outside Popworld, in Poplar Road, at around 3am last Saturday.

He died in hospital a short time later.

Connor Moore, 20, from Weston Road, in Lichfield, was charged with Mr Donoghue's murder on Monday night.

Moore has also been charged with violent disorder.

Meanwhile Regan Watters, 21, of Kitts Green Road, in Stetchford, also faces the same charges along with assault with intent to rob.

They were appearing before Birmingham Magistrates' Court today.

A 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released pending further investigation

And West Midlands Police said a 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail.

Police are still trying to trace Tyrall Blake

The police are appealing to find 21-year-old Tyrall Blake.

Officers from across the West Midlands Police force have been following a number of lines of enquiry to trace Mr Blake, but he has not yet been arrested.

Detective Inspector Jim Mahon, from the force's homicide department, said: "This is another significant step forward in our enquiries.

"My thoughts remain with Jack’s family who have been kept fully updated with this development.

“I continue to appeal to anyone who has information about Blake’s whereabouts to get in touch."
