Manhunt after failed raid on security van outside Aldi supermarket

Two men are on the run after trying to steal a cash box from a security van driver outside Aldi in Great Barr.

Police were called to the Birmingham Road supermarket at the Scott Arms after the attempted robbery took place just after 10am today.

The driver was not harmed in the incident.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Two robbers tried to take a cash box but fled empty-handed.

"The driver was unhurt."

The men managed to escape from the scene, and officers are now appealing for any information that might help catch them.
