Man released amid investigation into fatal hit-and-run

A driver arrested over a fatal hit-and-run crash has been released amid a continued police probe.

The collision happened in Evans Street, Whitmore Reans, close to a shop

The victim, a 63-year-old man, was crossing Evans Street, in Whitmore Reans, Wolverhampton, when he was struck.

It happened close to The Wine Shop, at around 10pm on Saturday.

A 48-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

West Midlands Police confirmed he has since been released pending further investigation.

A silver Mercedes, believed to have been involved, was found nearby.

Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting log number 2562 of October 26.
