The disorder continued several miles away after those involved sped away in cars. Two men were taken to hospital following the violence.

Police say a man was set upon in Brickhouse Road, Rowley Regis, by a group wielding weapons just before 7.30pm on Saturday and a house was also damaged.

The men then made off in two cars which both travelled towards Birmingham where there was a further incident on Rann Close, between Ladywood Circus and the Five Ways Island in the city centre.

Both cars were damaged and two men taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

An investigation has been launched into the incidents and detectives are appealing for information.
