Man, 27, charged with wounding over Bilston attack

A man has been charged over a violent Saturday afternoon attack in Bilston.

Lorne Salandy, 27, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a man was injured on the A41 Oxford Street.

The street was closed off next to the island at the Black Country Route towards Gozzard Street after the incident happened at around 5pm on Saturday.

Two men were arrested at the scene, one of whom was Salandy. He appeared before Dudley Magistrates Court this morning.

The other suspect, 34, has been released by police with no further action taken. He suffered cuts to his head.

Salandy, from Bilston, indicated no plea at court this morning and was granted bail.

He will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on October 28.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Lorne Salandy, aged 27, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

"A 34-year-old man was released with no further action."
