Those are the stark words of a father whose 15-year-old autistic son suffered a severe broken leg in an alleged attack.

Kai Davis was out playing with friends in a Cannock park when another teenager allegedly threw him to the ground and stamped twice on his leg.

The injury was so severe medical staff told Kai's parents this was the worst leg break they had ever seen.

Staffordshire Police say officers have interviewed a teenager but no arrests have been made.

Kai underwent surgery for seven hours, was in hospital for six days, and will be bed bound for two weeks.

He loves football and is a Manchester City fan - but his life has been put on hold while he recovers.

Kai broke his tibia and fibular in the attack

Kai, who is now in a wheelchair, said: "I am aching, hurting. This person was one of my mates. I don't know why he did it to me. I don't want to see him anymore."

The attack occurred on September 8 at a park off Laburnum Avenue.

Mark, Kai's father, said the alleged attacker called Kai names before throwing him to the floor and stamping on him.

Kai, a Hednesford Valley High School student, suffered a broken collar bone from the fall and a broken tibia and fibula from being stamped on.

Mark said: "They have had to put a rod in his leg. They couldn't put pins in because the bones were shattered.

"I looked at the X-ray and the bloke was explaining to me: 'the force has snapped the bones and broke them'.

"He has basically got a new lower leg. He has been given a certificate to go on holiday in case he goes through a (metal) scanner."

It has been a traumatic time for the family, who are searching for justice following the incident.

Mark made a social media post following the attack and the message has gone viral on Facebook, with messages of support coming from around the country.

Asked if he had a message following the attack, Mark said: "I want justice to be served. I want to know why my son was attacked. He was supposed to be his friend."

Lisa added: "Also, if this has happened to Kai, you don't know what could happen next. The attacker could have stamped on Kai's head."

The parents want to say a special thanks to Walsall Manor Hospital for the care given to Kai.

Suspicions

Mark said: "We want to thank the hospital, the children's ward and the nurses. The nurses were fantastic. One of them contacted me on Facebook to say 'he is a lovely lad and will need a lot of support'."

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it sent a first responder and an ambulance to the scene, following reports a teenage boy had been injured in a play-fight.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said officers had been called to reports that a 15-year-old boy had suffered serious injuries.

Although the parents were initially told Kai had been play-fighting, their suspicions were raised after they went to hospital.

Lisa said: "We knew someone was wrong because the surgeon kept saying in 20 odd years, they had never seen anything like it."
