Thieves targeting mountain bikes in Staffordshire

Mountain bikes are being targeted by thieves in Staffordshire.

Reports of bike thefts in the Cannock and Hednesford area have been made to police in recent days.

Bikes stolen include a white Carrera Crossfire, a bright yellow Boardman, a dark blue Carrera bike, a blue fold-up Apollo bike, and a light blue Voodoo mountain bike.

A police spokesman said: "Several mountain bikes have been stolen in the Cannock and Hednesford area over the last week, including a white Carrera Crossfire, a bright yellow Boardman, a dark blue Carrera bike, a blue fold-up Apollo bike, and a light blue Voodoo mountain bike.

"Offenders have been cutting through chain locks.

"Take a recent picture of your bike- useful for sharing on social media.

"Note the serial- these can be scratched off but worth noting down anyway.

"Lock it up out of sight or in view of CCTV where you can."
