West Midlands Police has now launched an investigation after the bricks were thrown at the bus travelling along Chapel Street, in Pensnett, on Monday night.

A number of windows were also smashed in the attack at around 8.30pm.

A teenager and a man in his mid-50s were taken to hospital for their injuries.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "Two passengers were injured – a teenager suffered a cut to her nose and man in his mid-50s was hit on the side of his head.

"A number of windows were smashed in the attack, at around 8.30pm.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: "Two ambulances attended and treated two passengers on a bus who had been injured. Both were taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further checks."
