Man charged after woman stabbed in the face in Brownhills

A man has been charged after a woman was stabbed in the face in Brownhills.

Luke Clark, aged 29, has been charged with wounding and two counts of assault after the incident on Watling Street.

It's alleged he knifed a 49-year-old woman in the face and head at around 3am Tuesday morning.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that the woman's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Clark was also taken to hospital after the attack with minor injuries.

Police said that Clark was known to the victim.

Clark appeared at Walsall Magistrates' court this morning and will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown court on April 18.

He has been remanded in custody.

Spokeswoman for West Midlands Police, Lara Horsley, said: "A man has been charged with three offences in connection with an attack on a woman in Brownhills on Tuesday.

"Luke Clark, aged 29, was arrested at his address on Watling Street, Brownhills shortly after the incident took place.

"He was charged with wounding and two counts of assault, and remanded to appear at Walsall & Aldridge Magistrates court this morning.
