A car was driven into the Co-op store on Stafford Road, in Fordhouses, Wolverhampton, in the early hours of yesterday.

Once they had forced their way inside, the crooks got away with a cash machine, leaving a scene of carnage behind.

The front of the shop suffered major damage, while bottles, baskets and shelves were left strewn over the floor inside.

Staff were back at the shop, at the Vine Island, yesterday afternoon preparing to re-open.
