Tarv Virk has moved his Car Sales Motor Company to a new site in Kidderminster Road, Bromsgrove from the firm’s previous home in rented premises in Cradley Heath.

The site gives the firm 2,200 sq ft on 0.73 acres.

Mr Virk plans to expand the sales business to include servicing, aiming to take on staff including a pair of mechanics later this year.

He has been in the secondhand car sales business for around 12 years, but the move to Bromsgrove is a major step as the company will now own its premises instead of leasing them, giving it a strong foundation for further growth.

Mr Virk said: “Our old premises weren’t ideal and the site at Kidderminster Road in Bromsgrove gives us a showroom with space for two or three cars as well as pitches across the site for around 40 more.

“We had been looking for a while for a new site that we could buy, which would give the business a strong property asset on which we could build further growth. We spotted the site at Kidderminster Road and felt it was completely right for us.

“We got in touch with John Truslove, as the agents for the site, and they have been very good. Ian Parker at John Truslove kept us informed at every step along the way. It never felt like they were just working for the property owner, they seemed genuinely interested in making sure the deal – and the site- worked for us too.”

Mr Virk added: “The showroom was already here so we just needed to make some alterations, give the premises a refit and get the workshop back up and running so we can offer servicing and MOTs. That way we can provide after-sales and mechanical services to a broader range of customers.

“Currently there is me and two sales staff, but we will be looking to hire a couple of mechanics and a receptionist later in the year.”

Ian Parker, joint managing director at commercial property agents John Truslove, said: “It is always satisfying when both parties in a sale feel they have secured a good deal. This was an existing car sales site that fit the bill ideally for Mr Virk and Car Sales Motor Company and will hopefully provide them with a platform for fresh growth.

“It is also encouraging that ambitious and growing companies continue to see Bromsgrove as an area with excellent prospects for business. We continue to see strong interest in the broad range of industrial and commercial sites that come on to the market in this region.”

Car Sales Motor Company was represented in the sale deal by Sak Sandhu from Moseley Chapman and Skemp solicitors in Sutton Coldfield.
