Previously known as the City Show, the event brought fair rides, circus acts, mighty monster trucks, the amusing nun Musical Ruth, a birds of prey exhibition and the death-defying Wayne Vander – a stunt artist from South Africa who took on the Wheel of Death.

The annual event, organised by the Harry Jones Company, always draws out huge crowds – and this year was no exception with thousands of residents enjoying the fun on Saturday and Sunday.

Organiser Harry Jones said: “It’s gone well overall. The weather has been ok but it could’ve been better.

“It’s been received really well and the public seemed to have a great time so we’re happy.

“It’s mainly families who came, but we also had some teenagers who were interested in the rides.

“This year for the first time we had Wayne Vander Wheel of Death, which came all the way from South Africa, that was really popular.

“People were dressed as superheroes balancing on big wheels in the main area for it.

“We’ve also had birds of prey for the first time too.

“We’re hoping to build on the event each year and the numbers are increasing yearly.

“Each year is a success and the events go really really well.”
