Grease, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan and more: New shows announced at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre for 2020

Wolverhampton Grand Theatre has announced nine new shows, including Grease, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan and more.

Grease returns to Wolverhampton from October 20 to 24 directed by Leicester Curve's artistic director Nikolai Foster.

The shows features a legion of hit songs, such as Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’, Hopelessly Devoted to You and You’re the One That I Want.

The music of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys will be celebrated in Good Vibrations as the show comes to the Lichfield Street Theatre on June 20.

The musical features new orchestrations of their hits of the 60s, from the early surfin days, through to the ground breaking Good Vibrations and the acclaimed Pet Sounds.

Rob Beckett is back on tour with a brand new stand up show Wallop, heading to Wolverhampton on May 26, followed by Romesh Ranganathan on May 27 with his new tour The Cynic's Mixtape.

Legendary crooner Tony Christie teams up with the iconic Nelson Riddle Orchestra to celebrate the life and music of Frank Sinatra and friends, for the very first time.

The show comes to the theatre on June 28 to perform hits including I've Got You Under My Skin, Ain't That A Kick, New York, New York, My Way, I Get A Kick Out of You and many more.

Strictly Ballroom comes to the venue from October 5 to 10 featuring more than 20 world class performers.

The show, directed by Strictly star Craig Revel Horwood, brings to life songs such as Love is in the Air, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps and Time After Time among others.

The Dreamboys return on October 31 with a show that promises to be 'hotter than ever'.

Following the success of Animal Farm, Grand Arena Youth Theatre return with Willy Russell’s critically acclaimed play Our Day Out on May 10.

Join Mrs Kay’s progress class on their day out as these inner-city kids get to discover what wonders lie beyond Wolverhampton as they jump aboard their coach for a funny, humorous and often touching experience.

Originally written in 1977, Our Day Out explores the dreams and aspirations of those children who’s seemingly depressing future could be changed by a single, fun fuelled day out.

The Commitments rides its way into Wolverhampton in 2021 after a record breaking run in London’s West End.

The show, based on the BAFTA Award-winning film, features classic songs such as Night Train, Try A Little Tenderness, River Deep, Mountain High, In The Midnight Hour, Mustang Sally and I Heard It Through The Grapevin.
