The track, featuring Shift K3y, comes ahead of a sold-out UK tour - within hours of tickets going on sale - that includes a date at the O2 Institute in Birmingham, the closest she can get to a hometown show, on April 3.

The former The Voice contestant was last seen on a Birmingham stage as a special guest at the Pete Tong & The Heritage Orchestra show at Arena Birmingham last month, and also has a tour support slot on The Script's nationwide venture ahead of her solo headline dates that includes a night at the Second City's Resorts World Arena on February 28.

More coverage:

An incredible 2019 now sees Becky Hill listed as the second most listened to British female artist on Spotify in the UK, having notched up more than one billion streams and 17 million Spotify monthly listeners.

Her hit summer single was I Could Get Used to This, with Weiss, she released her Get To Know project - which peaked at No.13 in the UK Official Streaming Chart and has not left the Top 20 since, co-wrote and collaborated on hit singles with Sigala, Wish You Well, which debuted in the Top 10 of the UK official charts; Meduza x Goodboys on Lose Control, which is still in the Global Spotify Top 10; and wrote the Top 10 smash All Day And Night by Europa which featured Madison Beer.

That should increase with Better Off Without You - written by Hill and produced by Mark Ralph - which is accompanied by a music video directed by Michael Holyk and shot in East London.

She said of the new track: “Better Off Without You is that perfect break-up song. Starting the year with those 'new year, new me' feels, it’s your new self-love anthem of 2020.

"Written about a break-up of my own, Better Off Without You was a song I listened to over the course of 2019 that helped me through some really dark times. I can’t wait to share this bit of personal therapy with others and watch the song take on a life of its own.”

Her O2 Institute date might have sold out, but there are still tickets available to see her support The Script at Resorts World Arena on February 28. Priced at £32, these are available from the venue's website.
