Green Duck Brewery on Rufford Road will host the show on Friday - part of The Blinders' For The Many Tour in support of Labour Party branches wherever they play.

The Novus, from Stourbridge, have helped to organise the gig in the hope it would encourage young people to vote and actively participate in politics. All proceeds will be donated to the local Labour office.

There will also be further support acts on the bill. Birmingham-based quartet The Flares will also play, as well as former The Star Unsigned column featured acts Jess Silk, from Kingswinford, and Kidderminster's The Humdrum Express. There will also be guest speakers on the night.

It's not their only attempt at arranging a show either, with a "secret" gig in Digbeth lin September featuring themselves, The Assist, from Walsall, Echo Beach, Pretty Vile, and Sterling proving a big hit.

Connor Hill, lead singer of The Novus, said: "As a young group of people from the West Midlands, we see and recognise the importance of the impact that this General Election can have on the rest of our lives. We first off want to encourage young people to vote and vote in droves. Once we become a big voting age band, politicians will have to take notice.

"Secondly, we want to raise money for The Labour Party's campaign as we truly believe in a new brighter chance for Britain and an end to austerity."

He added that as they were now a Birmingham-based band, it was also a bit of a homecoming for them.

"The event is to encourage and promote these aims," Hill added. "But also, we just want to have a good night. It’s our first Stourbridge show in two years and we are all buzzing to be back."

In a statement, The Blinders added of the tour: "All of our lives, it has felt like politics has worked against us with election after election seemingly serving the interests of a limited few. For us, the election on December 12 provides a crucial opportunity to elect a Labour government that we truly believe in.

"The For the Many Tour is about using our platform to bring people together, influence change and help create a society in which we are a little bit more equal. We hope to be joined by as many of our friends and-like minded individuals as possible".

Doors open on Friday at 7pm, with the night running until roughly 11pm.

Tickets for the show, costing £10, and the rest of the tour are on sale now from forthemanytour.com
