The Keg & Comfort Micropub in Oxley will play host to the event, which is being organised by whisky and spirits specialist Gentlemen Grimm.

The event on Friday, January 24, will see Gentlemen Grimm owner and proprietor Tom Irvine guide those in attendance through six different rums.

It will be the first rum tasting he will have run after establishing a whisky tasting session at the Lychgate Tavern in Wolverhampton.

He said: "The format of the evening is that I go through the different drinks on offer, starting off at the distillation and production through barrels.

"It's fun, but also educational, to take people through the route from the beginning of the drink to it being drunk."

People attending will be able to try two each of white, spiced and dark rum, including Bimber, Rosemullion and Bacoo.

There will be six different rums to try at the tasting event

They will also be given notes on each drink regarding taste, smell and the finish.

Tom, who describes himself as a self-proclaimed whisky geek, spoke about his passion for whisky and other spirits and sharing with people.

He said: "It started out just as a chance to enjoy a few whiskies and share it with people and it just grew from there.

"My day job involves training people, so I've been able to combine that with this to show people the story behind each drink.

"It also helps show them that there is a lot of quality products out there and you don't need to spend a fortune on buying them."

The event takes place on Friday, January 24 at Keg & Comfort Micropub, 474 Stafford Road, Wolverhampton, starting at 7.30pm
