Families will have the chance to help nurture the new arrivals at Lower Drayton Farm near Penkridge, when it is opens gates over February half term.

Taking place daily from February 15 to February 23, lamb week will allow visitors to get hands-on with bottle feeding a lamb before enjoying a host of other activities – including meeting and handling rabbits and guinea pigs, seeing rare breed cattle, sheep and goats and hopping on Farmer Ray’s trailer ride.

Kids can then bounce on inflatables, try out the new slides in the undercover play area and follow the ‘sheepy’ quiz trail before having a sneak peek at ongoing work on the farm’s new play barn.

Farmer Ray Bower said: “Cade lambs are born every year – ewes often produce triplets and can only feed two lambs, or a young ewe sometimes rejects her baby – so they need bottle feeding to thrive.

"It’s an amazing experience for kids – they make memories that last a lifetime as well as learning about animals and farming.

"This year, we’re moving the event to the barns next to where work is happening on our new farm attraction and it will all be under cover – so even if we have some late wintery weather, visitors can rest assured of a fun day out.”

Lamb Week at Lower Drayton Farm will take place daily from February 15 to 23.

With advance online booking advised to guarantee a lamb feeding session, tickets are priced at £9.25 for children and £8.25 for adults (under 2s go free). For more information and to book, head to www.lowerdraytonfarm.co.uk
