Artists have 'time of their lives' painting film star Patrick Swayze
Have you ever seen so many portraits of Patrick Swayze all in one place?
Swayze fan Warren McCabe-Smith, from Cradley Heath, grew up watching Dirty Dancing on repeat as his mother and sister enjoyed the film.
The Hollywood actor died in 2009 from pancreatic cancer, and artist Warren decided he wanted to do something to help raise money for others fighting the disease.
So the 40-year-old, who is based at The Art Yard in Cradley, asked all his artist friends, and even some strangers, to paint or draw their own version of the Roadhouse star.
Warren said: "I just thought Patrick Swayze is so popular and he has such an interesting face to paint and draw.
"I'm based at an art gallery in Cradley Heath so I just started asking every artist I knew to draw him. And they did. It's been absolutely wonderful."
Warren is now looking to auction off the portraits, with all proceeds going to charity.
He added: "Even if everyone just gives £1 a portrait, we'll have nearly £70 for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. But I hope we'll get more than that.
"There are some really well done portraits. And some really quirky ones too. They're great. It's amazing how many people have got involved."
The Paint Patrick Project auction starts Monday, November 18 at 6.30pm.
