Luke Becker: Don’t write off Wolverhampton Wolves title hopes yet

Wolverhampton racer Luke Becker insists they can still win the Speedway Premiership title.

They head to King’s Lynn tonight looking for a precious away win which would keep their top four hopes alive. And with the Stars without inspirational skipper Robert Lambert through injury and the suspended Great Britain racer Craig Cook they have a great opportunity.

If Parrys International Wolves make a late surge into the play-offs, American ace Becker is backing them for glory. They head into the meeting in good shape after a comprehensive win over Peterborough on Monday. And Becker said: “It was another strong performance from the team; Peterborough kept things pretty close in the first half of the meeting but as a team we pulled it together again to show everyone what we’re capable of.

“We’ve had some real good meetings of late and we know we need to keep that going. We need to win our home meetings and get as many away wins as we can and if we can get into those play-offs then I think we could go on and win the whole thing.”

Lynn have drafted in Poole’s Josh Grajczonek to cover for Cook and the rider replacement facility will cover for Lambert with his four programmed rides available to all other team members.

Wolves are unchanged from Monday.

King’s Lynn: Robert Lambert R/R, Josh Grajczonek, Michael Palm Toft, Thomas Jorgensen, Erik Riss, Lewis Kerr, Nicklas Porsing.

Wolverhampton: Jacob Thorssell, Luke Becker, Rory Schlein, Nick Morris, Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth, Ryan Douglas.
