Clegg: Cradley Heathens must take it to the Max

Cradley captain Max Clegg insists tonight’s home clash with the Isle of Wight (7.30pm) is a must-win fixture.

After a bright start, the Anchor Logistics Heathens have lost three of their last four National League meetings – including their last two at Monmore Green.

And Clegg says he and his team-mates need to do everything to turn their fortunes around.

“We keep making silly little mistakes and they’re costing us,” Clegg said. “It’s frustrating. While I’m scoring well, I want to be scoring well in a winning team.”

CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Tom Spencer, Danny Halsey, Luke Harris, Jack Smith, Sheldon Davies, Harry McGurk.

ISLE OF WIGHT: Georgie Wood, Chris Widman, Ryan Terry-Daley, Danny Verge, Ben Morley, Chad Wirtzfeld, Connor King.

Clegg had four wins from five rides as Heathens went down 51-36 in a frustrating Saturday night at Stoke’s Loomer Road.

Controversial exclusions for Harry McGurk and guest rider Kyle Bickley, in heats eight and nine respectively, proved pivotal.
